Boston Maternity Session
Having been through pregnancy and birth twice now, I've felt that unique duality: wanting it to be over while also feeling like it’s all moving too fast. This fleeting nature of pregnancy is why capturing those last moments is so important. It's about remembering how we felt, our hopes for ourselves and our child, our questions, our desire to remember our bodies, our struggles and, most importantly, the hard work of love. It’s challenging, but it’s beautiful, and we deserve to feel exactly as we are.
For me, there’s something especially meaningful about doing a maternity session in someone’s home rather than in a studio. An in-home session brings an added intimacy and closeness to the subject, and it often feels much more comfortable for the mom-to-be. For this session, I visited Alexa’s beautifully restored home in Charlestown. It was so fun to incorporate her preserved fireplace and historic decor to create something special for her. I truly love in-home sessions and can’t wait to do more.
